CATCHING UP WITH AN OLD FRIEND

Had the opportunity last night to catch up with my old friend Shannon Blowers. She moved to Los Angeles about 2 years ago to pursue an acting career, but we became close back in the day when The Film Commune was producing Indie Scene TV for RTV6 and she was the host. There was a lot of drama behind-the-scenes, but we always looked out for each other. She was like the hyper little sister I never had. Of course, pursuing the dream is never easy, but she's done well for herself in the short time she's been in L.A. She's been assisting several different casting directors and recently wrapped shooting a pilot for MTV called Juvies, in which she played (ironically enough) a runaway from Indiana. She's ambitious and driven and I wish her the best.

Chad, you have always come off as more of a scenester than a filmmaker. Do you actually make films or just go out all the time?

Wow... great website! Awesome stuff. My only critique is that you need more pictures of yourself on it.

Oh, and make some more movies too to qualify as a "filmmaker". That, or become a fashion consultant.

and i have never understood all of the hype around you and the film commune. you never put out movies while you were together and yet were constantly getting press and hailed as these great young things. you break up. joel makes a film that was screened once and never made available after that. you whore out a simple short film and get featured on inside report. and it's ridiculous that intake would do a huge write up about you and joel and you're little breakup. that's not news. there are plenty of other talented filmmakers in this city that could have been featured in theri cover story and yet they focus on your petty dispute and mediocre films? after all that i will admit i'm a little jealous. i don't know how you do it.

Hey makes Subway sandwiches for the staff of the Star... that's how he gets his press. Man, I wish my personal struggles can get Intake to write an article about me and my little 'spats' with ex's.
